A rarely-seen 1970s MEISTER-ANKER Day-Date Automatic Chronograph Valjoux 7750. A heavy gunmetal case 41mm x41mm. Signs of wear and ageing to the case and pushers - this watch has seen some action and has certainly not been a "safe queen"!! However, the black/grey dial has developed a beautiful chocolate patina and the original lume has aged to a creamy caramel colour.

This is a watch with plenty of character and the mechanical features to match, powered by the superb Valjoux 7750 Automatic mechanical movement. This Meister-Anker definitely has a military-style look. It is also very reminiscent of the Omega Speedmaster MarkII and the Heuer Pasadena (which also housed the Valjoux 7750).

It has a heavy gunmetal case which measures 41mm x41mm and 14.5mm depth, it has a really solid feel. There are visible signs of wear and ageing to the case and pushers - this watch has seen some action and has certainly not been a "safe queen"!! But the action-man dings and marks add to its original and authentic appeal to me, it's exactly how I want a watch like this to look. The black/grey dial has developed a beautiful chocolate patina and the original lume has aged to a creamy caramel colour. The day wheel is in German, so for UK residents an interesting aspect and an opportunity to learn the days of the week in German and for Monday, you'll see no difference - still seeing "MON" on the wheel.
