This Seiko 5 Automatic SNKP15K1 makes for a superb addition to your wrist. A predominately white dial is complimented by classic gold indexes and hands. Both the indexes and hands are coated in LumiBrite which is a luminscent material, allowing easy visibility at night.

The indexes at 12 and 6 o'clock are in the style of Roman numerals which adds more finesse to the piece. A chapter ring around the edge of the dial shows the seconds in five second intervals, adding more depth to the watch. Also, the ever present Seiko 5 logo can be seen just underneath the 12 o'clock index with a day and date window at 3 o'clock. Then, a stainless steel case sits neatly around the dial alongside hardlex crystal glass to provide it with protection and class.

On the flipside is a see through caseback which shows you the inner workings of the timepiece. Finally, a silver stainless steel bracelet can be fastened using a fold over clasp. This timepiece is powered by an automatic 21 jewel movement.

The caliber used in particular is a Seiko exclusive 7S26 which has provided reliable timekeeping for Seiko watches over the years. 21 jewels work individual inside the piece to help keep the time steady as they help reduce friction and wear. This watch has a water resistance of 30 metres, making it suitable for light splashes. The Seiko 5 family has set the standard in affordable, rugged and stylish watches since 1963. They incorporate simplicity, but seriousness.

The name of the Seiko 5 derives from its five key attributes, which Seiko promised to include in every watch that belonged to the family. They are: automatic winding, displaying the day and date in a single window, water resistance, a recessed crown at the 4 o'clock position and a durable metal bracelet. 1963 marked the year that the Seiko 5 acted as a catalyst in the horological revolution in automatic watchmaking.

Even after being in the market for over 50 years, albeit the Seiko 5 still remains as cool and relevant as ever. Though this serves as proof that expert craftsmanship and elegant design will never go out of fashion. Ceaseless determination to innovate in every aspect of the watchmaker's art is what defines Seiko's 135-year history.

By embracing this ethos, Seiko has been responsible for a string of industry-leading advances in the technology of time. Notably, the creation of the world's first quartz watch in 1969. Or equally impressive the creation of the world's first TV watch in 1982. And even more relevant today, with our abhorrent use of non-renewable energy sources, Seiko's Kinetic.

This watch had the ability to generate its own power from the movement of the wearer, it was released in 1988. The listed technological developments serve as evidence to illustrate the revolutionary impact which Seiko has had on the watchmaking world.

They are also remarkably unique in that they manufacture every aspect of every watch in-house. They even grow their own quartz crystals and sapphires, hence why Seiko are renowned for being watchmaking experts. Firstly, we would like to thank all of our loyal customers during these unprecedented times. We are currently working hard to minimise any disruptions with customer orders, whilst maintaining a safe and sanitary working environment for our employees and giving our customers peace of mind. Most-appreciated watches for all occasions.

It's not about price; it's often not about brand. It's about that feeling you get when you have a timepiece on that meets your needs, whether that's running a marathon, getting married, celebrating an occasion or having an amazing piece that is the latest must-have fashion item. It's all about what you like, what you want, and how you feel. The power is not with others or big brand advertising.

This simple philosophy started 20 years ago and has taken us all over the world. Sitting in the Dead Rabbit bar in Manhattan on a snowy January in 2015, the concept gathered pace about throwing away the old definition of luxury and bringing great design to everybody; letting the people decide what's cool, what's hot, what's classic, what's a must have. Three months later in London's Milk and Honey, WatchNation was born, with a shop in the fashionable Chester suburb of Hoole following soon after.

Our story so far has been one of adventure, discovery, never accepting no as an answer, and an appreciation of function, design and beauty. It's a quest to offer the best watches as defined by customers, not experts, in order to truly fulfill our founding mantra: Time for the people.
