TUDOR PRINCE OYSTERDATE SELF-WINDING AUTOMATIC REF. Since it's inception, Rolex creator Hans Wilsdorf's vision was to offer an affordable version of the iconic Rolex. The Tudor brand has been about delivering affordable luxury watches to the masses without the big-ticket prices. Since its release in 1947, the Tudor Oyster Prince has seen a multitude of different designs, movements and dial variations, leading to the release of the Tudor Prince Oysterdate; this example is a reference 7996 dated 1966/67. It features a matte grey dial, silver and lume hour markers. The dial also features silver type, silver hour, minute and centre second hands and a date window at 3 o'clock. There is a dent to the Crystal at the 5 o'clock mark but this does not affect the operation or aesthetics of the watch, see pictures for details. A smooth stainless-steel bezel sits on the 34mm stainless steel oyster case which has some scratches and signs of wear, as expected on a nearly 60 year old watch, this includes some scratches on the case-back (see pictures). Housed inside is an automatic self-winding movement. The watch is in working order but has not been serviced or time tested. Functions: Hours, minutes, seconds, date.
